When first served to guests, they question the name until they take the first bite. Then their eyes pop open and they say, “Oo la la is right!”
My youngest couldn’t quite say it, so for several years he called it “oo oo ah ah”.
But no matter what you name it, it is a cool delicious summer time treat!
Oo La La!
Combine 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs and 4 Tablespoons melted butter. Keep 1/2 cup for garnish and press the rest into a 9 x 13 pan. Set aside
Beat 4 egg yolks until lemon colored.
Add 2 cans sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup of fresh lime juice, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and 2 Tablespoons grated lime peel. Set aside.
Beat 4 egg whites to soft peaks. Add 1/2 cup of sugar. Beat to stiff peaks.
Slowly fold the lime mixture into the beaten egg whites.
Pour over graham cracker crust and sprinkle with remaining graham cracker crumbs. Freeze over night.
