We have the blue bird houses all ready.
We’ve removed the steel wool that we had placed in the doorway last fall to discourage all the little four legged critters from nesting in them all winter. (Check out the entry Bluebird Maintenance on November 10th, 2007 for details.)
We’ve cleaned out all the old nesting materials and made any repairs necessary. We’ve even replaced a couple of homemade houses that just didn’t last with Woodlink Cedar bluebird houses.
We are ready.
Now we are waiting for the weather to warm up so we can see our first bluebird couples of the season. Then I will know that spring has truly arrived.
My lilac bushes are just starting to bud and my daffodils are showing faint touches of yellow flowers. The first purple hyacinths are blooming and the grass is turning green. Warmer weather is very close!
The first bluebirds won’t be far behind.
